I run a solar skimmer, which gets most of the floating debris, leaving only fine silt and pollen to settle to the bottom. This would just pass straight through the medium filter shipped with the Polaris as standard, only to come out the exhaust port and settle on the bottom again...
The fine filter works much better for my purposes. I'd buy an extra fine filter if they made one.
